“Huge Housing Program Urged for Elysian Park”

An Associated Press report that the Los Angeles Municipal Housing Commission had sent the Federal Housing Administration a $3,000,000 project to replace what the article called “shacks” along the southern border of Elysian Park with “ultra modern homes.” The language shows how officials described established neighborhoods to justify clearing them.
